How do I find out my laptop's Serial Number? from command prompt

It's easy. You'll find your laptop's serial number on the original invoice, the original manufacturer's packaging and on the device itself (mostly on the backside).
You may also get to know it through the device itself.

• If your laptop is running Windows OS:
  
  • Open Command Prompt. Ensure you are logged in as Administrator.
  • Type the command wmic bios get serialnumber and press Enter.
  • Your laptop's Serial Number will be displayed
• If your laptop is running Linux OS:
  • Open the Shell window. Ensure you are logged in asAdministrator.
  • Type the command sudo dmidecode -t 1 | grep -i serial and pressEnter.
  • Your laptop's Serial Number will be displayed.
